This memorial project is the result of the combined efforts, talents, thoughts and the generosity of many in our community.  It is an expression of our attempt to remember, to allow others to remember and to teach future generations about this tragic piece of our history.  This memorial also reflects our country’s success in overcoming that tragedy, thwarting the terrorists’ goal of destroying our way of life and bring out the best in Americans.  It can never erase our loss or pain, but may it provide comfort and hope to all who spend time here.
